Local Media Works Awards in Less than Two Weeks

Less than two weeks remain before the inaugural Local Media Works Awards ceremony which will showcase the best in local media planning.

The awards ceremony, at which the winners in six awards categories will be announced, will be held on 21 October.

Entrants were asked to respond to a fictitious brief for a national campaign, with a media plan with local media activity at its core.

Entries were judged by a panel consisting of Sue Unerman, MediaCom chief strategy officer; Brandon Bell, Specsavers head of regional and local marketing; Mary-Ann Auckland, Communities Department head of campaigns; Graeme Adams, BT head of media; Patrick Milne, DFS campaign marketing manager; Keith Gulliver, The Post Office head of marketing and Hamish Rickman, head of brand engagement at Virgin Atlantic Airways.

The judges picked winners for each of the six awards categories; best original thinking, best strategy, best use of content, best use of local targeting, best use of multiplatform, and best of the best.

Shortlisted finalists include entries from media agencies including Carat, Mindshare, MediaCom, Rocket, Universal McCann, Initiative , PHD, MGOMD, Starcom MediaVest and Manning Gottlieb.
